2019

Trezell Ragas

Trezell is a proud alumni of Loyola University New Orleans where she earned her bachelors degree. Trezell is in her second year at Southern University Law Center. Trezell competed in the 2019 SULC Intra-school competition where her team was awarded best defense and she was awarded best oral advocate. Trezell and her team competed in and won the Texas Regional USPTO 2020 Regional Patent Drafting Competition and placed second in the USPTO's National Competition. Trezell has worked for 7 months as an In-House Legal Intern for a Fortune 500 Company, she is currently an Intellectual Property Law Clerk at a major U.S. law firm and this summer she will gain additional experience as a Summer Associate for an AmLaw 100 firm in Washington D.C. 

2018

Jimmie Herring Jr.

Jimmie Curtis Herring, Jr. is from Monroe, LA and graduated with honors from Southern University and A&M College in May 2013 with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. He graduated from Louisiana State University in May 2015 with his Masters in Public Administration. He graduated with honors in May 2019 from the Southern University Law Center. As a student attending Southern University Law Center, he was an Associate Editor of the Southern University Law Review, a 2017-2018 fellow for the Marshall Brennan Constitutional Literacy Project, Board of Student Advisors, Student Ambassadors, Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity, National Black Law Student Association, a 2018 scholar for the Thurgood Marshall Leadership Institute, and a 2018-2019 scholar for the White House Initiative for HBCU’s. He passed the July 2019 Louisiana State Bar Exam and was officially sworn in as an attorney in October 2019. He is currently working as a judicial law clerk for the First Judicial District Court of Caddo Parish in Shreveport, LA. His future goals and aspirations include working within the federal government in the areas of criminal law, immigration, constitutional law, civil rights, and public policy.  

Youth Ambassadors

Our youth ambassadors participate in the preparation of official events and attend the annual scholarship award presentation held in New Orleans, La.

Youth ambassadors receive hands-on mentorship from organization founders and are given tools to succeed at home and in school. Ages 10 and up.
